The long awaited day is finally here. The day of rest, if you will. The great
Blaugust experiment has concluded and i'm still alive, albeit tired and cranky. When i began this journey a month ago, i had no idea what would be in store. Would i have enough material i wanted to share on a daily basis for an entire month? Would i give up halfway through and go back to a more sane posting schedule? Would i completely lose it and run a muck destroying everyone and everything in my path? Luckily no one was harmed in my quest other than myself and a few readers that stuck with me through the entire process. It wasn't easy but i managed to push myself through it.
Perhaps i'd have had an easier time with it all had i not decided to make a theme of it all as well. I'd like to go back in time and slap myself for even suggesting such a silly idea. The masochist in me rather enjoyed it i have to tell you. I wasn't sure how i was going to tie every post to an 80's film celebrating its 30th anniversary. I'm still not sure if i even succeeded, but i went for it and didn't look back. If only one other person enjoyed it as well then i'll consider it a mild success. Better yet, if it encouraged someone to have a retro viewing night with some of these films, then i'm a happy camper. They're silly movies from a different time, but i love 'em.
I have to hand it to the bloggers that do this sort of thing every day without fail. I honestly don't know how they do it but i respect and admire the ones that can. Could i be one of them? I'm sure i could. Do i want to be one of them? No chance in hell! If there's one thing i've learned over this last month, it's that i enjoy a more relaxed posting atmosphere. Maybe something like a post every other day or so just to give myself time to reevaluate what the hell i'm doing. The experience was priceless though just for the learning aspect. I'm definitely a changed blogger for having experienced it. Rocky was right all those years ago.
A big thanks to
Belghast for organizing the event again this year. Also a big congrats to those that persevered and made it through the month unscathed. As always, check out my blogroll and support those bastards. I enjoy reading them and would like them to continue doing what they do. I'm out (drops
mic keyboard).

Rocky: During this fight, I've seen a lot of changing, in the way you feel about me, and in the way I feel about you. In here, there were two guys killing each other, but I guess that's better than twenty million. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that if I can change, and you can change, everybody can change!
